Polly Tech Trickery
Just the other day I received a phishing e-mail at my vincacards at yahoo.co.uk address. It was pretty obvious to me that it wasn’t kosher; considering that I hadn’t banked with the institution concerned for roughly eleven years or more.
Curiosity got the better of me however and sure enough it was a scam. Anyway, I was so enraged by the whole idea of phishing that I put on my thinking cap to see if there was anything practical I could do about it. The answer? TechSmith Camtasia Studio 3.
Simply put, I used this amazing programme to make a video recording of my actions on the fraudulent website the other night. Unfortunately, I then realised that I could be getting myself into hot water if I was to use the company’s logo without their explicit consent; so back on went the thinking cap. Why not have a look at the end result over on my Polly’s Peri-wrinkle’s & Peircing’s! blog [...]
Do let me know what you think, won’t you? About the post itself and my use of the stills captured the other evening as I experimented with narration and screen shots, etc. Personally I think that Camtasia Studio 3 is terrific and has huge potential; which is probably why it has been upgraded and improved since I was luckyenough to get my hands on it totally legally in the first place!
Regarding the phishing? Get some protection soon, I use Norton Internet Security; which caught it straight away…
